Having completed a Master of Advanced Practice -Infection Control & Prevention in 2011. Nicole Vause is credentialled with *ACIPC at the expert level since May 2012. As a member of ACIPC Education Committee (2014-2020) she engaged in the development of the ACIPC Foundations course. 

She has a longstanding rural acute care IPC experience, originating from the Limestone Coast Local Health Network. She has provided IPC support and strategic direction to all 63 regional hospitals in South Australia from 2009-2019. 

From November 2020 Nicole led South Australia’s Medi-Hotel IPC Program providing quality assurance for the Supervised Quarantine workstream. This later became the community response workstream. Not being busy enough, she was also deployed to COVID-19 outbreaks within aged care and acute care settings. 

With supervised quarantine winding up, Nicole became the inaugural Nursing Director for the High-Risk Virtual Care Hub, a multidisciplinary virtual coordination and care hub. Currently Nicole is using her experience and expertise as the Nursing Clinical Practice Director for Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) within the Safety and Quality Unit under Clinical System Support & Improvement at SA Health.
