The Elephant in the Room: Candida auris

Candida auris has emerged across the globe. It is the first transmissible healthcare associated multidrug resistant yeast that can cause invasive infections that may be very difficult to treat. The first documented case of Candida auris isolation in Australia occurred in Perth WA in 2015. In this talk I will present this case and take a look at what has happened since then.
